LEADERS

Do you like working with children, having fun, learning new skills while Guiding can take you to different places and helps with your career. You can make life long friendships along the way. The besIMG_0920t thing is no experience needed.

You will need to apply for a Queensland working with Children Blue Card, We mentor you through your Guiding journey to become a leader, and you will work with others within the team. Time will be a minimum of 2 hours per week depending on the role you are
wanting to take on.

Leadership Roles

UNIT LEADER
Unit Leaders implement the Australian Guide Program in a Guide Unit. They help the girls to plan creative, fun-filled programs that reflect the principles of Guiding. They develop leadership skills through becoming qualified Leaders in the Australian Learning and Qualification Program.

GUIDING ASSISTANT
Guiding Assistants are adult members who have made the Guide Promise. They assist the Unit Leaders in variouos ways and work with the girls. They develop leadership skills through completing some modules in the Australian Leaning and Qualification Program.

UNIT HELPER
Unit helpers assist the Unit Leader at Unit meetings and activities in a part time capacity and work with the girls. This role is non-uniformed position.

As an adult

Guides provides girls and young women with fantastic opportunities to meet personal challenges, to learn team building and leadership skills and to make new friends.

As an adult may choose to be involved at a local or Region level by supporting Guiding as a member of the local Support Group,
assisting with financial management, property management,
catering for events or simply helping the Leaders with program
activities or administration tasks.

Alternatively, you may like to explore the option of providing
administrative assistance at the SGGO office or working in one of our retail outlets.

In addition, there is an opportunity to support Guiding in
governance and management roles at state and national levels.
